![]() I fucking loved their first three albums so much, and I'll still put them on every now and then, 20 years on. I got into SoaD right around when Steal This Album! came out. So glad to finally find another Daron hater. give me some of that self titled goodness and im all over it. obviously this is all detailed and opinionated af so u dont have to listen to me, but man. i cant stand shes like heroin either, it gives me weird vibes that i just. i adore daron, shavo, and johns musical ability, since ik daron and shavo pretty much wrote a lot of the music, and they worked well like that! some songs daron and serj wrote together are also incredible, but the solo daron songs are just…. serj rly has a way with words, and he has the ability to make witty, though-provoking lyrics. every single time i looked up lyrics to my fave songs off mez and hypnotize, they were always written by only serj, and it makes sense. they dont really sound like system and they feel completely out of place on that album. lost in hollywood and also old school hollywood (whats with the double hollywood anyways) are kind of terrible. on mez, i genuinely think the last song shouldve been sad statue. it took just the small lyric change “your” instead of “mine” for them to be satiated.Īlso? i just think darons lyrics fucking suck, at least on the songs where he majority sings by himself. during the toxicity era, when needles was being made, daron and shavo didnt like the original lyrics “pull the tapeworm out of my ass” because it wasnt metal enough and according to rubin and serj the band almost broke up over it. I feel like daron pretty much came down with a bad case of lead singer syndrome, while not even being a lead singer. the worst part was the fact daron dogged on serj in an interview saying he was the only reason that there wasnt a new system album, and in return serj posted an entire book on facebook about what actually was going on, and how serj wanted equal pay and equal creative input within their songs. he wasnt rly feeling metal which is understandable, since ppl change. Thirteen members of Hypnotize Camp Posse make lyrical appearances on the album, including all six full members of Three 6 Mafia.I actually agree, i kind of also have something against daron anyways… serj rly didnt want to do anything after steal. All tracks are produced by DJ Paul and Juicy JĪll performers featured on the album were members of Hypnotize Camp Posse and signed to Hypnotize Minds when the album was recorded, with the exception of Pastor Troy, who appears as a guest artist on "Big Mouth, Big Talk" and is also credited as a co-producer on 8 tracks. On February 12, 2000, the album debuted at #1 on the US Billboard Independent Albums chart. The album was released by Loud Records and Hypnotize Minds on January 25, 2000, and distributed through RED Distribution. All the artists featured on the album were Hypnotize Minds artists with the exception of guest artist Pastor Troy, a member of the Atlanta-based group D.S.G.B. The Hypnotize Camp Posse group is essentially a larger or "broader" form of Three 6 Mafia, as it includes all the members of Three 6 Mafia as well as all the artists signed to Hypnotize Minds. Hypnotize Camp Posse is the only studio album by the Hypnotize Camp Posse, a collaboration between Three 6 Mafia and members of its label, Hypnotize Minds.
